It is made with the decomposition of plants or herbs found on the Himalayan mountain. Due to excess heat, the minerals and plants turned into the black substance on the surface of the mountains.
Before discussing about the benefits of shilajit, I will discuss about the Shilajit and its types.
What is Shilajit?
Shilajit has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine and touted often as the “conqueror of mountains and Destroyer Of Weakness” by the Ayurvedic practitioners.
Around 84 trace minerals are found in this substance and the main element is fulvic acid.
It is considered a safe and effective supplement and can be used by both men and women.
This naturally occurring substance is also referred to as ‘Rasayana’ in Ayurveda. Being a Phyto-complex, Shilajit contains some humus substances such as fulvic and humic acid.
The combination of humic and fulvic acids, plant-based antioxidants, amino acids, organic trace minerals, and other essential organic acids set this resin-like substance apart from other superfoods.
Types of Shilajit :
The four major types include :

Black is found very easily in the market but copper and gold are very rarest to find.
Health Benefits of Shilajit:
It is a misconception that shilajit only improves the sexual health of the male but most people don’t know that it also provides numerous health benefits.
1. Regulate mensuration:
Irregular mensuration can affect the fertility of any woman. Shilajit helps to normalize the level of the female reproductive hormones such as progesterone and estrogen. These hormones help the women to get a period on regular basis.
Shilajit also helps in improving the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the reproductive organs. By consuming shilajit, any woman can get rid of menstrual pain and cramps.
2. Slower aging process:
The fulvic acid in shilajit acts as a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
It may protect your body against free radicals and cellular damage and hence reduces the aging process in the tissues of your skin, heart, liver, and lungs.
3. Improves Testosterone Levels in men:
Testosterone is a sex hormone produced by the human body. In males, testicles help in developing testosterone. In females, ovaries make testosterone in small amounts.
